I’ve been an animal lover my entire life, and became an activist and vegan as a matter of course. My only regret is not becoming a vegan sooner. Like most people, it took me years to break through the cognitive dissonance I had regarding other sentient beings’ lives. I was never a big meat eater to start with, and by the time I was in my 20’s I tried macrobiotic diets and vegetarianism for the first time. I ended up being a vegetarian on and off for the next 30 years.
I worked for In Defense of Animals for three years as their web master, and it was then that I fully embraced veganism. I got to see what my co-workers were doing with their campaigns and realized the uphill battle we face against animal suffering, cruelty and killing. But the more people who become aware, the less of that there will be in the future, so I’m doing what I can.
My aim in creating this site is to spread the word about veganism. My first reason for being a vegan is because I love animals. And if you love animals, you don’t eat them. But I welcome everyone! Whether you are vegan, vegan curious, or interested in anything to do with veganism, I hope I can provide something that will give you pause for thought.
Check out the videos page for trailers of highly recommended documentaries, and the recipes page for some amazing cuisine. If you would like to submit an article, recipe, video, or anything else here, I’m happy to post it.
I’ve been a writer, web developer, animator, web designer, dog rescuer, animal sanctuary volunteer, and am an aspiring documentary filmmaker. I live with my beloved rescue dogs, Minnie and Noodle. And I work for the animals.
